ALL ABOARD the Birthday Train!

to celebrate carson's special day, i created this invitation...



i purposefully pushed carson's party back, so that i would be almost 14 weeks pregnant by the time it rolled around.  i was hoping to be better by then.  i was so wrong.  so, i kept his party simple...just family and one set of friends...carson's favorites :)  that was all that i could handle at the time.  this is one of my favorite photos of my little dude...admiring his cake, the day before the party...


we went with the chop-choo train theme.  to say he's obsessed is a complete understatement.


he was so excited!  the look on his face made all of the work very worthwhile :)  we had smoke puff pops..


and cupcakes...




i decorated our little tree with toy train cars...




and of course hung our staples... a banner and birthday wreath.






i went with a morning party, which was about the only time of day that i felt even slightly decent.  we had breakfast casserole, hash brown casserole, fruit salad, kolaches, doughnuts,  and sausage and cream cheese squares.


while we waited for everyone to arrive, we snapped a quick one...


then we ate breakfast...




sang, "happy birthday."










blew out the candles...


and had cake.


aunt lindy came...


and so did nana and pawpaw...


we were so excited to celebrate with everybody.




papa and mama c. both made it in too.


aunt ash was there and so many more.  we had cousins and second cousins, and everything in between.


we hit the pinata...










and the kids jumped on our brand new trampoline.  everyone went in together to buy this one big gift, which has turned out to be the. best. gift. ever.


we opened presents...
















and called it a day.  happy birthday sweet boy.  i can't believe you're three!  it's gone by too, too fast :)

bro's real birthday.

his party was still a few weeks away.  if i'm honest i'll tell you i just couldn't get it together before then. i. was. miserable.  and pregnant and knew it wouldn't go away for a very.    l   o    n    g.    time.  this was the best i could do.  make it to dinner...


carson loves to cook, so we figured he would love the show :)


and he did.


he helped the chef do all sorts of things.


they made him feel extra special, which was good, because i was doing good to just make it through the day.


we sang, "happy birthday."


and they got some sweet treats.


he was happy and that was all that mattered.  kids are really so easy to please :)
