we picked a monday morning for a zoo day, and it was perfect.
the weather was perfect.
and rob got to come with us, which is always extra special.
we always stop off for the bathing of the elephants.
carson LOVES the zoo now.
he loves to walk, see the animals, and all of the rest that goes along with it.
although, he doesn't love stopping for a photo.
we made it up for this one though...
the chimpanzees were pretty lively and came right up to the glass.
the chimps were clapping & dancing...just like us.
i think the carousel is their fave.
so fun that we had to ride twice :)
then, it was time to feed the giraffes...so cool. and, we ended our morning with a picnic lunch, right next to the family of giraffes.

the very beautiful butterfly
our very hungry caterpillars finally turned into very beautiful butterflies.
this one had just hatched. his wings weren't quite completely unfolded yet.
and he hung out with miss emma for quite some time, which she just loved.
it has been so fun watching our caterpillars grow. i highly recommend buying a couple of milk weed plants for your little ones!
while emma played with her butterfly, bro slicked up his lips with some la la loopsey chapstick. oh my goodness does this boy love some product :) hilarious.
and, he thinks he can drive the jeep him "self" now. yikes. when he says "self," it sounds like he's saying, "elf." either way, he doesn't want anyone's help. he leans back...mashes the pedal that he can barely reach, and just grins. he has no clue what he's doing and he doesn't bother steering either. heaven help me.

easter traditions ::part 2::
our easter mornings always start with chocolate, don't yours?
the bunny was really good to the kids this year...
oh my goodness, they racked up!
they got crocs, bathing suits, shoes, clothes, and everything in between.
breakfast was southern maid doughnuts...yum.
we all dressed for sunday morning church. i'll let the rest of the photos speak for themselves...
thanks to mama & papa c. for their easter clothes! and thanks again for a fun easter weekend!
this one is my favorite :) happy easter y'all!

easter traditions ::part 1::
we headed to Mama & Papa C.'s house for easter this year and started the easter festivities with egg dying...
my cousin savannah was there to help miss emma out :)
i love to dye eggs and so does my dad, but i think we've passed the torch to miss emma...
she can pretty much hold her own.
here's the proof.
aunt emily was there too. we got to see lots of extended family!
right before easter, my mom and i worked super hard on the kids' easter baskets. this was my easter basket, but had...ahem...seen better days, perhaps? i gave it a new coat of paint, and my mom and i added the tulle & ribbon. emma wanted a yellow liner, so i went with seersucker, and both of the littles got new grass. i wanted emma's basket to be rainbow, well because i felt like it fit her best :)
i sewed bro's blue seersucker liner and added the white pom poms. the basket, i found in the top of my pantry. for whatever reason, i just love his basket. my mom painted each of the littles their very own easter egg to tie onto their basket. when it was all done, i was happy!
emma loves her new basket, and i love that it was mine :) she told me that she was going to give it to her little girl...one day. swoon.
we got ready for the egg hunt...
but carson had already found some sort of goody.
ready, set, go!
when sugar's involved, we can usually get a family photo :)
for sure, these two had a happy day.
