Bon Voyage!

Rob and I had a great time on our cruise! We were so glad that our friends, Juli and Clinton, were able to join us! We left on Monday, had our "fancy night" on Tuesday, docked in Progresso on Wednesday, docked in Cozumel on Thursday, had one last day at sea on Friday, and then returned to Galveston Saturday morning.

The entertainment and service that we experienced were second to none! We spent the week sleeping in, working out, sitting in the steam rooms~love those :), catching some sun, shopping, and going to shows. We dressed up every night for dinner, so that was fun! Our waiter, Luna, was amazing and so was all of the food!

Emma spent the week with Mama C, and had a blast! I don't have any photos to share, but I am sure that my mom took her fair share. Thanks for keeping her Mom!! You are the best!

I wore the patch while on the cruise...I get motion sick very easily! I was fine while on the ship, but needless to say, I am still rocking! I am pretty sure that that was our one and only cruising adventure. The actual cruise was fun, but the aftermath....not so much! Here are a few photos...

10K Bayou City Classic

My 10K race was yesterday! Juli came in from out of town to run it with me. I was SO glad that she came!

The weather had been HORRIBLE in Houston all week, so I was a little freaked out....freezing outside and rain to go along with it. I was truly chilled to the bone for most of the week. How were we going to run in this? I didn't help that it had been 80 degrees about a week ago...what kind of luck is this?

I prayed for no rain, and decided that I could deal with the cold. How could this be any worse than labor and delivery?

I trained hard and considering I couldn't even run a mile after Emma was born, I was very proud of my accomplishment....6.2 miles! We fought blisters on our feet, the cold, and the wind, but it was well worth it!

Here are some photos from the race. Rob and Emma were at the finish line to congratulate me....what a treat! Emma keeps telling me, "Mommy runs real fast" and "Mommy, you did it!" I was glad that she could be there to see it!

Once the times and professional photos are posted, I will add them later!

Juli coming into the finish line...

I am almost there....

Crossing the finish line...
We did it!!

Do I get a lick?

Emma and I baked oatmeal raisin cookies today. She LOVES to help me in the kitchen and especially loves to lick the batter!

Picnic at the park!

Rob and I picked up Chick-fil-a for the three of us and headed to the park...it was SO windy! Emma got to eat her chickens and play, play, play, so she was happy! I bought her a kite for Easter...I think that the wind will be more than adequate for a high flying day!

The very best of friends...

Emma and Ray-Ray are pretty much inseparable these days. We had Rachael over to play the other day, and they had a blast! The weather was beautiful, and they both enjoyed their picnic lunch on the front porch. They are so cute together!!

Ashley and I took them to the zoo last week. I didn't bring my camera, but I'll post pics just as soon as Ashley sends them over :)

Puppets!

Emma LOVES puppets....she fell in love with them at her Aunt Gail's house over Thanksgiving. I found some super cute ones in the Land of Nod catalog....for $10 a piece :( Have they lost their minds? After tax and shipping, it would probably run you just under a hundred bucks.

I decided I could make them myself, so don't look too close, they are FAR from perfect-but MUCH cheaper! Don't tell Emma, they are for Easter :)

First came the pink toes...

and then came the pink room!

Most of you know that I have been working on Emma's big girl room for a while now....a little bit at a time. I had no intentions on moving her anytime soon, but.....

I washed ALL of her crib bedding this past Saturday-bumper pad and all! I started the load in the morning, and by the time her nap rolled around at one, EVERYTHING was still soaked! I had no choice but to let her nap in the "pink room."

She got up a couple of times at first, but all in all, I was absolutely pleasantly surprised. She slept the whole time, and did so well! Honestly, I could not believe it!

Rob and I had errands to run that afternoon, so we went ahead and picked up side rails for her new bed. I knew that we would need them eventually. I put the side rails together that night, and wanted to see how she would do OVERNIGHT.

Rob and I were surprised once again...she slept just like she always does...all night long!

After one successful nap and one successful night, I felt like a move was in order for Miss Emma.

Her new room was far from finished, but I moved some of her nursery furniture into her new room, and for the most part, it is a fully functional big girl room.

I am not finished yet, but here are a few photos...

She had just woken up for the morning. She slept ALL night!

The curtains...
The walls and the headboard...the bed is from IKEA!

The dust ruffle....I made it myself! Thanks Juli!
Flower balls, hung from the ceiling....another pricey pottery barn item...I made these too!

The bedding...I bought the sheets first (weird I know)...it was ALL pieced together from Marshalls, TJMaxx, and Ross.
Emma's baby wreath...love it!
