easter weekend recap

the weekend before easter, we snuck in our neighborhood egg hunt...


it was fr-eez-ing...


but still fun :)






we managed to dye some eggs.  carson loved the blue...


and emma loved the yellow...








i was 18 weeks prego.  still miserable and completely unmotivated.








on easter sunday, the bunny came for carson...




and for emma...




and then i took these two photos and bailed.


we never hunted the eggs that we dyed and i didn't get a single photo of us in our easter clothes for church.  the good news:  we made it to church & as for the rest, the kids didn't know the difference :)  it was a laid back easter for sure.

the kids have been begging for rob to join us at the zoo, so on this saturday, we braved the crowds, and they got their wish...












the birds were the highlight of the trip...


everybody got a little more brave this time :)










we had a picnic lunch...






and rode the train.  just. for. bro.




he loved it :) and so did she.  it was a fun day.

and the Leprechauns came...

bright and early on March 17th, the kids found this...


some teeny tiny green guys left them an extra special breakfast.


they brought green milk & what's known as "leprechaun cereal" in our house.  seriously.  my kids really believe that you can only get this stuff straight from the leprechauns themselves :)


they left a craft too.


it was happy faces all around...

we had a pretty laid back spring break.  i was so happy to have this one home with me for a week...


i miss her when she's at school.

we spent lots of days taking picnics to the park...


they can always find fun there.

carson worked on his bike riding skills...


and emma where to help out when i thought my sciatic nerve would put me under.


he was so proud of his progress...


we had lots of popsicles outside...




and in case you haven't tried these pops from trader joe's...run don't walk and pick up a box....or two.  it's raspberry+lemonade+strawberry and about the only thing i could stomach eating for about two weeks straight.  so good.


we had birthday parties...


and wherever there's a train, carson is completely happy...


they had so much fun.


and in the end, minnie came for a visit.  and then i missed disney world all over again :)
