Yes, I Have a Blog.

In my very last entry that was...ahem...almost 3 months ago, I promised y'all that I would come back...one day. Well, today looks like it just might be the day, and I've got some tall orders to fill.

Let's try rewinding to this past June.

Geez, I can't believe it's been that long.

We've been in our new house for 12 weeks, and I think I can safely say that we are finally settled in.

It's been quite an adjustment on so many levels. Emma's cried for her old friends. I've cried because she was crying. Bro's asked for the familiar...our HEB, our gym, and everything in between.

I've cried for lots reasons, and on one day in particular, I called my sweet husband, who was out of town, and told him that I just wanted to go home.

I was completely rattled that day. I bumped a car in a parking lot, was lost on numerous occasions, and everything in between. If it could have gone wrong that day, it did.

It made me think a lot about home and what that means. I know they say home is where the heart is, which I completely agree with, but if I could add one caveat, it would be that home is the familiar.

It is what we know. So, even if where you went was simply amazing (insert Disney World), at the end of it, you still just want to go home, right?

So, I took a deep breath, and just had to realize that we had each other, that we made a good choice, and that it would just take time.

Time, I'm not so good with time.

Four weeks after we moved in, Miss Emma started Kindergarten, which was another adjustment for all us. I love having her at home with me and on that first day of school, after Carson went down for his nap and my house was quiet, I just cried. We used to craft or bake or whatever, and all of sudden, she wasn't with me anymore. Carson would ask for her all day long. If we went to Chick-fil-a, he would say, "with Memma." If we strolled to the park, he would ask, "with Memma?" They love each other and are super close, which is wonderful, but they all grow up entirely too quickly, don't you think?

I am going to hit the brakes for now, fast forward to the present and say that we all love it here. It's taken me almost every minute of these last 12 weeks to figure that out. The schools are amazing, we've met some wonderful new friends & neighbors, we're closer to all of our family, and one neighbor in particular has been my saving grace.

She answers ALL of my questions, gives me phone numbers for pediatricians, doctors, hair stylists, dentists...brought us lunch the very first day we moved it...recommends restaurants...and pretty much just tells me the ins & outs of life in our new little town. They are just good people, and I am every so grateful for all of their information & kindness.

Her children friended my kids...on the day we moved in. That made me smile and on "move-in day" was the best blessing that I could have ever asked for.

At the end of my last post, I asked y'all for prayers for happy kids & a happy home. The Lord is good, and my prayers have been answered.

We're excited about October...its' my favorite time of the year. We've been eating/baking everything pumpkin, sewing Halloween costumes, and getting ready for all of the fall fun :)

Bear with me as I backtrack to this past June :) I use this blog as an avenue for our family's scrapbook, so I need to catch up!

Stay tuned for lots of old updates and until then, Happy Fall Y'all!
